1.For which applications/ services CNS is suitable?
It is used for water and all conductive liquids similar to it, such as diluted acids & alkalis and dosing liquids.
2.What wetted part material options are available?
Electrode material is SS304 or SS316. For corrosive applications, electrodes are provided with Hastalloy or Titanium tips.
3.Whether the switch is used for hazardous area applications?
Yes. CNS two-part system is provided with ex-proof enclosure for probe and controller.
4.Can it detect multiple levels in a tank?
Yes. Multi-point level detection is possible by using multiple electrodes at different heights within the same probe assembly.
5.Whether the switch require power supply?
Yes. The switch includes a probe and a controller. The controller operates on a supply voltage of 90 to 270 VAC. Optionally controller with 24 VDC supply is available.
6.What is the minimum conductivity required for operation?
The CNS is suitable for liquids with a minimum conductivity of 25 µS/cm and auto sensitive for higher conductivity.
7.How does set points are decided/ set in the switch?
Length of probe electrode (control electrode) below flange bottom is equal to set point.
8.Are the set points adjustable?
Electrode length decides switching set point. Electrode length can be cut on site as per requirement, however electrode length cannot be increased.
9.What is the maximum electrode length offered?
Rigid electrode length is 100 to 1500 mm and Flexible electrode length is from 500 to 5000 mm

10. What is the maximum temperature and pressure limits?
Electrode with PP sleeve is suitable for maximum temperature of 70°C and with PTFE sleeve upto 100 °C. The CNS is suitable for maximum pressure of 5 kg/cm2.
11.Whether the switch can be used without controller?
No. Switch is always used with controller.
12. How is the switch construction and its working?
Switches are available in two configurations: integral (standalone) systems and two-part systems.

Low ac voltage signal generated in controller is send across the mass & control electrodes. The rising liquid level comes in contact with the tip of sensing electrode and the circuit gets completed, which is sensed and amplified by the electronics to actuate the relay. On liquid level falling, the circuit breaks & de-actuates the relay.
13.Whether the pump can be directly operated through relay output?
Higher loads like pumps, use of contactor or relay is recommended. With relay output having contact rating 5 A @ 250VAC is suitable for lighter load.
14.Whether the controllers are available in panel mounted?
The controllers are available in panel mounted, wall mounted (IP65) and wall mounted (Exd IIB).
15.What precautions need to be taken during installation.
Not any specific. However, ensure
16.Does the switch require maintenance?
The switch require minimal maintenance as there are no moving parts. Periodically clean electrode tips and tighten the terminal connections if found loose.
